KTBA elects office-bearers

KARACHI: The Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) has elected Khalid Mahmood as president for the term 2018-19 in its 61st annual general meeting.

Khalid Mahmood is a Chartered Accountant by profession and is a partner in the firm KPMG Pakistan. Khalid has been associated with Bar since 2007 and has served the Bar as its Vice President and Joint Secretary in the past.

The AGM also approved the election of Muhammad Zeeshan Merchant as Vice President and Syed Zafar Ahmed as General Secretary for the term 2018/2019.

Muhammad Zeeshan Merchant is an Advocate High Court by profession and is a second generation lawyers. He runs his own practice. Zeeshan has served the Bar as its General Secretary last year and has been elected as its Vice President this year for the term 2018 – 2019. He has been associated with the Bar since 1998 and has also served under various positions in Bar.

Syed Zafar Ahmed, who has been elected as the General Secretary of the Bar for this year, works as a Director in the firm Shekha & Mufti. Zafar has remained associated with the Bar since 2002 and also has served as its Librarian and Joint Secretary in the past.

The other elected office bearers are included Asim Rizwani Sheikh, Joint Secretary and Syed Sibtey Asif Naqvi, librarian.

The executive committee members are included: Ghulam Rabbani, Imran Amin Virani, Mohammad Imtazuddin Zubairi, Muhammad Rehan Siddiqui, Muhammad Saleem Siddiqui, Nisar-ul-Haq, Syed Faiq Raza Rizvi and Syed Ejaz Ahmed Jafri.
