KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait Customs officers at the Shuwaikh Port foiled an attempt to smuggle about 2.4 million narcotic pills that were concealed inside a barbed wire cargo from Beirut to the country here the other day.
A Syrian expatriate who went to the port to clear the consignment confessed knowing about the contents, and also claimed having other accomplices with whom he planned to smuggle the contraband through a company. Director General of Customs Affairs Khaled Al-Seif and Northern Ports Director were present at the scene to follow up the case.
