Lahore Excise seizes documents of 132 vehicles in snap checking

LAHORE: The motor branch of the Excise and Taxation Department has seized documents of as many as 132 unregistered vehicles or which were owned by token tax defaulters.

The department constituted special teams on special directions of Director General Excise Akram Ashraf Gondal to recover token tax from defaulters. The teams, working under the supervision of different inspectors, checked the documents of hundreds of vehicles in the city and seized documents of 132 vehicles.

The Excise and Taxation Department has started a crackdown against token tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles in different areas of the city and also impounded many vehicles. Check points have been established in Model Town, Thokar Niaz Baig, Ghazi Road and Multan Road.

Director General Excise and Taxation Punjab, Akram Ashraf Gondal has directed field staff to keep eye on defaulters and guide them about new token tax system and stickers for their vehicles.
