PRA, PFA to launch crackdown on tax evaders, restaurants‏ owners serving unhygienic food

LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) and the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) have joined hands to launch a crackdown on tax evaders and restaurants owners who are serving substandard food.

Source told Customs Today that the heads of the PRA, PFA and Punjab Tourism Corporation held a meeting which was presided over by PRA Chairman Dr Rahil Ahmad Sadiqqui.

DG PFA Dr Sajid Chauhan, MD Tourism Corporation Ahmad Malik, Additional Commissioner Salman Ali and Shahzad Mehmood Gondal participated.

The meeting discussed issue, including substandard food provided by restaurants and tax evasion by restaurants owners.

It was decided that issuance of licenses to restaurants will be conditional with sales tax registration numbers. TCCP, PRA and PFA teams would jointly crack down on the restaurants.
