Lahore Excise starts operation against property tax defaulters

LAHORE: Taking action on the directives of Excise DG Ahmad Aziz Tarar, the teams of the Excise Department started a massive operation against property and luxury tax defaulters in Region-B of Lahore under the supervision of Excise Director Akram Ashraf Gondal.

During the operation, the excise teams sealed a large number of properties, including Engine Oil Factory, Kashif Oil Change Centre, Wall Barring Factory at Chung Asim Natt Factory, Plastic Dana Factory at Mohlanwal along with many shops and houses in different areas of Lahore. Meanwhile, the Excise Zone-14 recovered millions of tax from defaulters.

According to details, the Excise and Taxation Department Region-B has collected Rs 1.8 billion, which is the best performance in Punjab regarding collection of taxes. Region-B Director Akram Ashraf Gondal is very vigilant against property tax defaulters and is taking strict action against defaulters on a daily basis. Other regions of Lahore are also showing good performance in property tax generation. Only the Motor Branch is showing negative performance in collection of token taxes, according to Customs Today reports.
