Proposal to block passports, CNICs of tax defaulters on the cards

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue FBR is introducing a new law in upcoming budget according to which passports and CNICs of tax defaulters will be blocked.

A regional tax commissioner said that they are considering different measures, which will be finalised in the near future . Sources told this scribe that the Directorate General Broadening of Tax Base has already written a letter to the Federal Board of Revenue in this regard, in which they suggested that passports and CNICs of tax defaulters must be seized.
