KARACHI: A team of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday raided the main office of Axact—the world’s leading IT company located at Defense area of Karachi, on the allegations leveled by The New York Times that the company is involved in selling forged educational degrees.
During the raid, the FIA has taken all the company data into custody and sealed the office for further investigations.
Sources informed Customs Today that the authorities concerned have also arrested 12 people from the office and have started further investigations in this regard.
The sources said that the FIA is conducting more raids to arrest company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shoaib Sheikh, adding that scores of people including the employees were also present at the time of the FIA raid.
The people also gathered outside the Axact office and witnessed the entire exercise conducted by the FIA team.
It is pertinent to mention here that Axact has also planned to launch a leading media TV channel with the name of BOL, which is to be inaugurated in the upcoming days.
