Larkana customs seizes six sacks of goods valued Rs928900

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization’s Larkana Customs Preventive has confiscated foreign origin (F/O) six sacks of schoolbags, velvet cloths, toys and geometry boxes worth Rs928900 involving duty and taxes of Rs483028 during an action at Jacobabad checkpost, Sukkur division.

Additional Collector Rehmatulah Vistro received a tip-off that smuggled items were being smuggled into the country without payment of duty and taxes. He constituted a team which intercepted a public vehicle near Jacobabad checkpost. The team recovered six sacks of foreign origin (F/O) schoolbags numbered 1009 of velvet cloths, toys and geometry boxes valued Rs928900.

Prior to the recovery of said items, the team asked the driver to produce documents regarding the legal import of the items but he could not prove legality of the goods. The team impounded the items besides registering a case against him.

After the seizure, the ASO deposited the confiscated goods into the Sukkur State Warehouse.

The raiding party comprised Superintendent Ghulam Shabbir Shulputo, Inspector Nasrullah Jilal, Inspector Ayaz Ali Shah, Inspector Abdul Wahab Sheikh, Inspector Rahib Ali Abro, Sepoys Shabbir Ahmed Thebo, Hawaldar Muhram Ali, Driver Manzoor Shori and others.
