Lavish wedding: FBR issues notice to families of newly-wed couple

MULTAN: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued notices to the families of newly-wed couple after their lavish wedding ceremony, showcased on media.

Regional Income Tax Commissioner Saleem Raza sought the details of the families’ assets and tax payments. Moreover, a stern legal action will be taken against them if the reply is not submitted till March 24.

Irfan, a resident of inner Multan city, got married to a deceased wrestler’s daughter last week in an elaborate and extravagant ceremony. More than 15,000 guests attended the affair and lions were also brought to the event. Moreover, the groom wore 50 tola gold sehra (traditional headdress for grooms).

The wedding ceremony comprised of 15,000 guests, whereas the bride’s family gave dowry to her worth Rs50 million.
