LAHORE: The business community has lauded the commissioning of first-ever 100MW solar power plant that would help save huge foreign exchange being used to import oil.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Ijaz A Mumtaz said that the initiative of utilizing the indigenous resources like sun and wind should be continued to overcome ongoing energy crisis and reduce dependence on imported fuel. He appealed to the domestic users to utilize solar means of power generation at their residences to reduce load on national grid and ensure availability of electricity for trade and industry.
The LCCI President said that the government should also expedite work on hydle power projects so that the masses could get cheaper electricity.
