LFU Wagha starts pilot project to clear fresh items over WeBoc

LAHORE: The Model Customs Collectorate Lahore Land Freight Unit Wagha Border has started the pilot project regarding the clearance of fresh items over Web Based One Custom (WeBoc).

The Weboc was launched at the LFU Wagha to replace the One Customs software to clear the cargo consignments at the end of the 2014. The customs authorities did not replace the old system in one step just to facilitate the clearing agents and traders. They adopted multi stage strategy to run the Weboc.

At first step, the customs shifted the soya bean clearance over WeBoc and now some consignments of tomatoes and peas were getting clear in WeBoc. According to available documents, the consignments of tomatoes worth Rs 4.59 million, peas worth Rs 0.5 million and soya bean worth Rs 523 million were handled with Weboc software. After pilot project most of the fresh items will be shifted over Weboc, An official said. He added these steps were just taken to facilitate the traders.
