TOKYO: LG has sent out media invites for a launch event on April 28, where it is expected to launch its flagship LG G4.

The invite sent by LG has a tagline “See the Great, Feel the Great,” etched onto a piece of leather. As rumoured, the LG G4 is expected to boast premium materials. In what could be the biggest launch in the first half of 2015, LG is hosting simultaneous launch events across New York, London, Paris, Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul.

The forthcoming flagship has surfaced online more than once, and renders show a curved body a la the G Flex 2. As for specifications, a listing on GFXBench reveals what the LG G4 will boast. It is expected to flaunt a 5.5-inch QHD display, and will be powered by a Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor paired with Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

The flagship smartphone is also expected to feature 32GB internal storage, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front-facing camera, and on the software front, run on Android Lollipop 5.1.

While the LG G4 will be the showstopper, the South Korean company is also expected to launch a phablet variant of the flagship. The LG G4 Note was recently spotted online, and it seems to have taken inspiration from Samsung’s Galaxy Note series.
