LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the police to present all the record against accused Akbar Ali in a drug smuggling case as the appellant has filed a bail application in the court.
According to details, a two-member bench comprising Justice Abdus Sami Khan and Justice Shehram Sarwer conducted the hearing of the bail application of the suspect.
The counsel for accused, Nadeem Ahmed Nadeem, argued before the court that on July 27, 2015 the police of Tarkhani District Faisalabad arrested the suspect and registered a case of drug smuggling against him.
The counsel argued that Additional Sessions Jugde Summandri Irfan Saeed heard the case and declared the accused as a culprit. The counsel added that five other cases had been lodged against Akber Ali and the trial court disposed of the bail application of the accused without seeing the record against him. The counsel asked the court to accept the bail application and order his release.
After hearing the arguments, the court asked Investigation Officer Abdul Qayyum for the record of other five cases against the accused. The investigation officer stated that he is unaware of the other five cases. On the reply from the investigation officer, the court ordered the police to present the record of all cases against the accused.
