LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has stopped tax recovery of Rs 47.5 million from Jee Reverse Limited (JRL) and issued a stay order in favour of the company until the final decision of the case. The court directed Commissioner Inland Revenue (CIR) FBR to complete documents and evidences of the case in this regard within a month.
Justice Shahid Karim heard the JRL arguments. Advocate Ahmed Pansoota argued that the JRL received an income tax notice of Rs 47.5 million from CIR. The JRL had filed an appeal and the case was in judicial proceedings but CIR sent income tax notice which was unjustified, he said.
The court directed the FBR to immediately halt recovery of income tax from JRL till final decision of the case.
