LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has disposed of a bail plea of a drug smuggler involved in smuggling of 79 kilogram of drugs.
According to the details, a two-member bench of LHC under the supervision of Justice Ali Akber Naqvi heard the case of Yousaf, the suspect. The counsel for the accused argued that Madan Pura Police Station, Faisalabad has registered baseless case against his client.
He added that the FIR was registered after the lapse of a long time period, adding that the sample of drug was also sent very late for laboratory test, so the case has not been lodged on merit.
On the other hand, Deputy Prosecutor Awais Mazhar argued that police recovered 79 kg drugs from the possession of the accused person. He also urged the court to rejects the bail plea, as police have also submitted laboratory report of drugs.
After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court has rejected the bail application of the accused.
