LHC rejects bails of five drug smugglers

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected the bail applications of five drug smugglers who belonged to different districts.

A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Abdus Sami Khan heard the bail applications of drug smugglers namely Muhammad Mansha, Rafique, Muhammad Sajjad, Qurban Ali and Ijaz alias judge.

The counsel of the accused argued the court that no eye witness was produced against the accused persons, so bail should be granted to them.

On the other hand, deputy prosecutor general Khurram Khan argued police recovered 2.5 kilograms of cocaine from accused Muhammad Mansha, while two kilograms of heroin was recovered form Muhammad Rafique, 4 kilograms cocaine from Muhammad Sajjad, 2.5 kilograms cocaine from Ijaz alias judge and 1.8 kilogram cocaine has been recovered from accused Qurban Ali.

The court, after hearing the arguments from both sides, rejected bail applications.
