ISLAMABAD: LPG prices have increased sharply across Pakistan, with liquefied petroleum gas being sold at Rs370 to Rs410 per kilogram in various markets, significantly higher than the official notified price of Rs241 per kilogram.
The growing gap between official and market prices has added to the financial burden on households, particularly middle-income families already struggling with rising inflation and increasing daily expenses.
Consumers have complained that LPG is not being sold at the government-notified rate, leaving them with no option but to purchase the essential cooking fuel at significantly higher prices.
Many families rely on LPG for cooking, particularly in areas where piped gas is unavailable or supply remains limited. The continued increase in LPG prices is therefore making it increasingly difficult for consumers to manage their household budgets.
Consumers have urged the government to take immediate action to ensure the availability of LPG at the official rate of Rs241 per kilogram. They have also called for strict action against hoarding, profiteering, and overcharging to provide relief to the public.
