SAN ANTONIO: The video of the rescue was incredible and the man charged in this human smuggling case is headed to prison for a little more than 3 years.
According to authorities, 34-year-old Drew Potter was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison Wednesday for his role in a human smuggling ring. 28 men, seven women, and four minors were all rescued back on September 18th from this truck. Many of them too weak even drink water.
Potter admitted he was paid $800,000 to drive the immigrants from Laredo to San Antonio.
