Appraisement -West holds auction of confiscated vehicles

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Appraisement -West held an auction of the US Embassy vehicles and new Mercedes at AICT, Mauripur  on June 15, 2015.

Following the directives of Collector-MCC Appraisement-West Muhammad Saleem, the auction staff of the Collectorate held the auction of the confiscated vehicles which included Honda Hybrid, Toyota Pixis, Honda Fit, Move, Alto, Premium, Purus, Vitz, Every Hijet, Dayz, Volkswagen, Wagon-R, Honda Insight, Honda Echo and others.

According to the auction schedule, the bidder(s) have to deposit 25 percent of the total auctioned amount, 10 percent income tax along with Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) at the time of auction while, the bidder(s) have to pay the remaining amount within seven days of the auction.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Collector-MCC Appraisement -West Muhammad Saleem has already disclosed that the Collectorate will hold auctions at regular intervals during the last 15 days before the fiscal year end to surpass the revenue target.

Sources informed Customs Today that the Collectorate would hold auctions on weekly basis till the fiscal year end.

It may be mentioned here that the Model Customs Collectorate-MCC Appraisement (East) has also held auction of different commodities including confiscated vehicles at PICT and Al-Hamd Containers
