Chief Collector North Nadir Khan fines two companies on tax theft

ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Chief Collector North Nadir Khan Hoti has rejected the appeal against the decision of Sialkot Deputy Director Licensing in Messers Barkat Customs Clearing case. Messers Barkat and Wania Trading Company had misdeclared the amount of tax. MCC Sialkot has cancelled the license on tax theft of Rs 4 million.

The Lahore Customs Intelligence and Investigation after re-examining the containers seized the smuggling goods and fined Rs 2.5 million to Wania Trading Company and Rs 1 million to Messers Barkat on tax theft of Rs 0.4 million. Wania Trading Company paid the fine but Barkat Messers decided to file a petition in court. The license license CHAL No. 110/smb/97 had been cancelled under Customs Rules clause I and II. As many as 60 days had been given to Messers Company but it did not file petition even after 114 days on which Chief Collector Nadir Khan Hoti has rejected the appeal.
