MCC-Exports issues demand notice against defaulter

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate-MCC of Exports in its ongoing campaign against the defaulters has issued yet another short recovery demand notice amounting to Rs1.3million against an individual namely Asif Javaid.

The Special Recovery Cell (Exports) while following the directives of Collector-MCC Exports Manzoor Memon recently issued a demand notice in terms of short recovery of government dues against Asif Javaid.

In the demand notice issued by the Special Recovery Cell (SRC) of MCC-Exports stated that an amount of government dues amounting to Rs1349082 along with the personal penalty of Rs500000 (Rs0.5million) adjudged vide Order-in Original (ONO) No.82 of 2012 against Asif Javaid son of Muhammad Javaid-Karachi. It further stated that the Recovery proceedings under Section 202 of the Customs Act, 1969 read with the recovery Rules, 2001 have already been initiated. The SRC, therefore, finally directed to pay the aforesaid defaulting amount of seven days from the receipt of this notice positively to avoid further proceedings against the defaulters.
