Customs Exports Preventive collects Rs 18.686 billion against target of Rs 17.180 billion in FY 2014-15

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate-Exports Preventive has collected Rs 18.686 billion against the target of Rs 17.180 billion, showing an increase of revenue generation by at least 109 percent in the fiscal year 2014-15, it is learnt.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had tasked the MCC-Export Preventive to collect Rs 17.18 billion revenue under the head of customs duty in the fiscal year 2014-15. And, with the efforts of the MCC-Export officials, the revenue was surpassed by at least 109 percent more, sources told Customs Today.

In the financial year 2013-14, a target of Rs 16.172 billion was given however only Rs 13.618 billion was achieved that showed a major shortfall in the revenue.

However this time, the MCC-Exports Preventive made extraordinary efforts as it collected Rs 3521.82 million in the month of June 2015 and a collection of Rs 926.97 million was made on the last day of the outgoing financial year 2014-15.
