MCC Islamabad impounds four vehicles, other smuggling items from 18th to 24th

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad took into possession four offending vehicles and other various smuggling goods worth Rs5.20million during 18th to 24th of November Financial Year 2017-18.

According to details explained by Majid Hussain Gadd, Assistant Collector, Anti-Smuggling Organization Islamabad that, during above said period, the collectorate made many successful seizures against offenders and notorious smugglers.
He said that, during said period, the ASO Islamabad impounded four offending vehicles (vehicles carrying smuggling goods) valued at Rs3.5million. Assistant Collector further said that the ASO seized 1,375 kilogram of foreign origin fabric priced at Rs0.806million. The ASO confiscated 315 kilogram of tea worth Rs0.1007million. He mentioned that the ASO Islamabad took into possession goods valued Rs1.70million while impounded vehicles worth Rs3.5million during 18th to 24th of November FY17-18.
He said that, during upcoming 2nd Quarter, it is hoped that the ASO Islamabad will contribute a handsome amount to exchequer by recovering revenue from tax evaders.
He told CT that, during 1st Quarter FY17-18, the ASO took into possession 47 offending vehicles worth Rs51.90million whereas the Car Cell of the ASO impounded nine NDP vehicles valued at Rs14.86million. During said period, the ASO confiscated 22,077 yards of foreign origin fabric priced at Rs12.67million and it also did 54,369 kg of food grains worth Rs8.08million.
The Assistant Collector ASO Islamabad added that the ASO seized 56,36 kg of tea worth Rs1.74million, 517 tyres and tubes valued at Rs1.8million, 332 alloy rims worth Rs0.25million, 7,494 kg of auto-parts priced at Rs5.83million, 1,315 liters of Mobil oil worth Rs0.23million, 2,690 packs of fake cigarettes valued at Rs1.63million, 6,349 numbers of electronic goods worth Rs15.23million, 324 numbers of blankets priced at Rs0.102million, 2,472 numbers of toys worth Rs0.421million, various kinds of medicines valued at Rs0.0084million and 56 kg of Gutka priced at Rs0.0117million.
