Customs Multan recovers outstanding amount of Rs 2.183m in July‏

MULTAN: TheModel of Customs Collectorate Multan recovery branch has collected Rs 2.183 million outstanding amounts from defaulters during the month of July in the fiscal year 2015-16.

The recovery branch of MCC Multan has recovered Rs 2.183 million from Ahmad Fine Textile Mills during the month of July. Collector Adjudication Customs has issued the Order-in Original against the misuse of Duty Tax Remission for Export.

As per detail, Ahmad Fine Textile Mills Limited Multan got the Duty Taxes Remission for Export (DTRE) approval from Customs Collectorate under  Rule 307-C and it was allowed to import the polyester staple fibre approved quantity of 700,000 kilograms under PCT heading 5503.2010. It was also allowed exporting yarn and fabric of approved quantity of 667,158 and 530,000 kilograms respectively under the PCT headings 5509.5390 and 5513.1300.

Customs found accused Ahmad Fine Textile mills during the audit that company had utilized the 695,901 kilograms imported polyester for yarn and fabric exports respectively which was 4098.5 kilograms less than the imported quantity of 700,000 kilograms. The contravention was made against the Ahmad Textile mills limited on the misuse of DTRE.

Collector Customs rejected the view point of Ahmad Textile Mills that remaining quantity of 4098.5 kilograms polyester fibre was wasted during the manufacturing of the furnished material.

Ahmad Textile Mills were directed to submit payment of wasted raw material on the violation of DTRE and they were directed to submit the outstanding amount within month. Ahmad Fine Textile mills have submitted Rs 2.183 million during the month of July because they have not filed any review petition against the verdict of Collector Customs Adjudication.
