Customs Preventive recovers 215 mobiles sets from passenger at Karachi airport

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Preventive staff deputed at Jinnah International Airport has arrested a  passenger who was coming from Dubai on Emirates Airline, EK-602 and recovered 215 mobile phones worth Rs 2 million from his possession.

According to details, Additional Collector Dr Tahir Qureshi received a credible information who passed it on to his team members, Assistant Collector Wasif Malik, IPS Ashraf Zia and SPO Irfan. The team detected the accused and recovered mobile phones from his possession.

During the investigation process with arrested passenger Amjad, another person named Amir was arrested for whom the mobile phones were being smuggled.

A First Information Report (FIR) has also been registered against Amjad and Amir by the Customs Preventive officers. It may be mentioned here that a woman passenger was also arrested by the same Customs Preventive officers and registered an FIR against her.
