ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Administration Member Shahid Hussain Jatoi has said that the board did not ask for 400 names of corrupt officials from the collectorates and regional tax offices across the country.

“But it does not mean that the board will not take action against corrupt officials. A stern action will be taken against every corrupt official.”

Talking to Customs Today, he said that the board did not impose the decision or made it compulsory to send names of a maximum number of corrupt officials.

“The step was only taken to eliminate corruption from the board.”

The department is conducting inquiries of corrupt officials, and most of the inquiries are completed, he said.

However, he said that final reports will be sent after completion of the process. “The use of modern technology is also under consideration in this regard.”
