ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue Administration Member Muhmmad Majid Qureshi has suspended the performance allowance of Inland Revenue Deputy Commissioner Hussnain Ahmad Hali on violation of departmental laws, rules and regulation.
The member has announced the decision in the light of an inquiry report prepared after receiving complaints against the deputy commissioner by a committee. In the report, Hussnain Ahmad has been found guilty of misuse of powers and recommended a penalty for him.
However, Hali has filed an appeal before Chairman Nisar Muhammad Khan against the inquiry report and Admin member, besides requesting the chairman to restore the performance allowance and remove the penalty. He also termed allegation against him wrong.
Chairman Nisar has summoned the deputy commissioner on November 3, 2016 directing him to bring all documentary evidence to prove his innocence. The chairman also sought record regarding his performance and inquiry report from Admin member.
Visit to Brussels:
Customs Chief Akhlaq Ahmad Khattak, Director Tanveer Iqbal and other officials are going to Brussels on November 2, 2016 to attend a workshop regarding information technology management.
The workshop has been arranged by World Customs Organisation (WCO) with the collaboration of US Aid. The workshop will be held on November 3 and 4 in which customs officer from all over the world will participate.
Talking to Customs Today, Akhlaq said that the purpose of workshop is to enhance abilities regarding information technology management in the officials; besides educating them about latest technologies being used in customs procedures.
“We have a better information technology system,” he said. He added that we can learn through the experiences of foreign customs official by sharing views at such kind of workshops.
