Mianwali ASO impounds abandoned Toyota car

FAISALABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization Mianwali impounded smuggled used Toyota car near Jandanwala district Bhakkar.

Deputy Collector ASO Mainwali Muhammad Rizwan received a tip-off regarding the above said smuggled vehicle. Soon after receiving information, the ASO Mianwali formed a raiding team comprising Superintendent Choudhary Sardar Muhammad, Inspector Azhar Hussain Jafri and Sepoys Faiz Ahmed, Sher Ahmed, Muhammad Yousaf and Saifullah.

The raiding team intercepted a Toyota vehicle with registration No: AAM-303 (Quetta) model 2005. The market value of the car is Rs01.3million involving customs duty and taxes of Rs655680.

At the time of interception, the vehicle was parked near Lasani Restaurant, Janfanwala, district Bhakkar and no one came to claim the ownership of the same. The vehicle was found unlocked and empty. On the request of In-charge PRAL, Custom Dry Port Faisalabad telephonically informed the department that the above intercepted vehicle was not imported in the country. Therefore the vehicle was seized according to Customs Section 2(s) read with SRO 566(1) 2005 of the Customs Act-1969.
