Mianwali ASO seizes 323 smuggled drums of base oil

MIANWALI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization has recovered 323 drums of smuggled base oil worth Rs 9769230 involving duty and taxes Rs 1421444 during routine inspection in the Mianwali city. The ASO team  also confiscated Hino truck under section 157 of the Customs Act 1969 which was being used for smuggling.

As per details ASO has intercepted Hnio truck bearing registration no TLL 928 Quetta near Toll Plaza M.M Alam Road distric Mianwali and recovered 323 drums of base oil in weight 59109 kilograms.

Anti-Smuggling Organization team was doing its surveillance on the road at the time of capturing the base oil. Each drum of base oil was filled with the quantity of 185 kilogram oil.

The smuggled base oil was loaded on the 22 wheeler Hino truck and brought into country without payment of duty taxes through unthorized routes to avoid law enforcement agencies action. The inspector Tanveer ul Haq asked the truck driver Muhammad Usman to show documents regarding legally import of the oil but he remained fail failed to do so.

An advance information report has been lodged against the owner of smuggled base oil after seizing it.
