The meeting was attended by Secretary Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Khalid Ilyas, Director General Excise Abdul Halim Khan, Additional Director General, Directors, officers from various Excise offices in Peshawar, and officers from other districts via zoom.

During the meeting, a comparative review of tax collection figures up to March 2026 — covering the first nine months of the current fiscal year — was conducted against the annual targets set for the department. The minister was briefed that the department had achieved significant progress in tax collection during July to March of the fiscal year 2025–26.

It was highlighted that all taxation heads registered a noticeable increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

According to the data presented, total tax recovery during the nine-month period reached Rs 5,136.8 million, as compared to Rs4,314.6 million collected during the same period last year.

An overall increase of Rs 822.2 million was recorded, reflecting a 19 percent growth over the previous year in nine months comparison.

The meeting was informed that with sustained efforts over the remaining three months, the department would be able to meet its assigned annual targets.

On this occasion, the Provincial Minister directed various Excise and Taxation Officers (ETOs) to further improve their performance indicators.

He reiterated that achieving targets by June was mandatory under all circumstances and appreciated the efforts of officers who demonstrated outstanding performance.
