LONDON: The Japanese motor manufacturer Mitsubishi has revealed Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Misubishi is bringing out a new top-of-the-range variant.
Sitting above the GX4h and GX4hs models, the GX5h and GX5hs boast a cabin full of luxurious touches and are aimed at the premium company car market.
Priced from £37,899 (including the £5,000 government grant), the GX5h offers the 18in alloys, sunroof, automatic lights and wipers, satellite navigation and rear view camera of the GX4h, plus upgraded leather seats, a specially tuned, 420W sound system, front and rear heated seats and a slightly modified exterior featuring a Land Rover-style Outlander bonnet badge, LED fog lights, a rear spoiler and integrated running boards.
As with the GX4h, upgrading to the ‘s’ trim gets fans a forward-facing collision mitigation system, adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning but costs £2,100 more at £39,999.
Although the GX5h has a revised interior, no changes have been made to the PHEV running gear, so the car’s CO2 emissions remain at 44g/km. That means company car BIK tax will be just 5% and drivers won’t have to pay the Congestion Charge in London.
Clive Messenger, the man in charge of corporate sales at Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said: “The GX5h and GX5hs plug-in hybrid Outlanders offer such a fantastic package of benefits for both companies and company car drivers – high specification, luxury feel, low running costs and strong environmental credentials. We are expecting it to quickly populate company car choice lists UK-wide.”
