Multan adjudication disposes of 86 cases worth Rs41m in January

MULTAN: The Collectorate of Adjudication Customs Multan camp office has decided 86 different seizure cases worth Rs41million during the month of January 2016-17.

Deputy Collector Farhat Ali has finalized 27 various seizure cases worth Rs15.795million in January. Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz has decided 27 various seizure cases out of 32 ones but the amount of the confiscations could not be known.

There were 33 fresh seizure cases worth Rs22.035million which were added to the court of Deputy Collector Farhat Ali for legal proceedings in the month of February.

Deputy Collector Farhat Ali has disposed of majority of the seizure cases in January after completion of hearings. As many as 32 seizure cases of Rs18.570million are still pending in the Customs Adjudication for final verdict after the completion of trial.

Additional Collector Talib Hussain has decided only five various seizure cases of non-customs paid vehicles instituted by the Customs Intelligence and Anti-smuggling Organization. The total value of the finalized cases were Rs8.822million in January. Additional Collector Customs Talib Hussain and Deputy Collector Farhat Ali have decided six various seizure cases in favour of taxpayers due to lack of insufficient evidences and remaining 26 cases were concluded in favour of the Customs Department.

Collector Adjudication Customs Raja Tahir Majeed has conducted proceedings of four available seizure cases of Rs75.512million which are still under adjudication.
