Multan Collector Ambreen Tarar forms special committee for settlement of disputes

MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate formed special committee for redressal of grievances and settlement of disputes in the Collectorate.

Sources told Customs Today that Multan Customs has decided to purchase digital image scanners to fight against illicit trade in the jurisdiction. The Customs Collectorate is going to install digital scanners at the Multan Dry Port, International Airport and other strategic locations to detect concealed objects in the jurisdiction.

Collector Ambreen Tarar constituted a committee to redress the grievances and settlement of disputes under rule 48 of Public Procurement Rules 2004.

Scanners will be fixed at certain checkpoints to detect what kind of goods entered and transported in the jurisdiction and they will assist in examination for procurement of import and export.

Multan Customs issued tender for the purchase of digital scanners and other equipment’s in this regard after approval of Federal Board of Revenue and called applications. The Customs Collectorate has asked applicants of tender to submit their proposals with offered price for the purchase of digital scanners on 8th June in the conference room of Customs House.

The committee will supervise all the purchases required to be made through under 8th June 2018 by the purchase committee of Customs Collectorate Multan. If any grievance has been lodged, it should be redressed before awarding the tender for the purchase of necessary equipment.

The committee shall be comprised of Assistant Collector Dry Port Trust Muhammad Ikram and other members are Superintendent Anti-Smuggling Organization Habib-ur-Rehman and Superintendent Law branch Yousaf Baloch.
