Multan Customs Adjudication decides 29 seizure cases worth Rs 47.012m in Dec

MULTAN: The Customs Adjudication has settled 29 various seizure cases worth Rs.47.012 million during the month of December.

According to details, there were more than 75 various seizure cases presented for hearing in the Customs Adjudication Multan for the duration of December. The Customs Adjudication Multan has disposed 29 various seizure cases of Collector, Additional Collector and Deputy Collector after hearing. Deputy Collector Farhat Ali has decided 11 seizure cases of Rs.3.112 million in December and 10 new seizure cases were added for hearing in the Customs Adjudication in December.

The Additional Collector Customs has decided 15 seizure cases, which involved revenue amounting to Rs.22.40 million during December. The decided case of the Additional Collector Customs Adjudication includes 13 different smuggled vehicles and other goods. Collector Customs Adjudication Raja Tahir Majeed has also concluded three seizure cases worth Rs.21.500 million during December. These seizure cases were instituted by the Customs Intelligence and Anti-Smuggling Organization of the Multan Customs.

There were 30 new seizure cases added during the month of December for their legal trial in the Customs Adjudication Multan, which will be preceded by Deputy Collector Customs, Additional Collector and Collector Customs.

The Customs Adjudication has 46 seizure cases pending for their adjudication process due to unnecessary delay from respondent and their legal lawyers. The pending of seizure cases were increased due to vacant position of the Additional Collector in the Multan Customs Adjudication after the transfer of Additional Collector in the start of November.

Now the Customs Adjudication Multan has fixed the hearing dates of various pending seizure cases on daily basis for their speedy disposal.
