Field intelligence units were put on high alert, and their vigilance paid off when a truck carrying the illicit goods was intercepted on Sher Shah Road. The raid uncovered nearly 19,894 kilograms of poppy seeds packed in 370 jute bags, along with 10 bags of Diary Fresh Milk Powder.

Director Watto commended the team for their swift action and dedication to curbing smuggling activities. “This operation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to combating illegal trade and protecting our economy from such threats,” Watto stated.

The seized goods have been secured, and an investigation is underway to trace the smuggling network responsible for the contraband. Authorities are determined to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in this operation.

This significant seizure underscores the ongoing efforts by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan to tackle smuggling head-on, ensuring that such illicit activities do not undermine the country’s economic stability. The Directorate remains committed to strengthening its enforcement measures and maintaining the integrity of Pakistan’s borders.
