Multan Customs found four vehicles tampered during forensic examination

MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate Multan has received the Forensic Laboratory examination report of 35 confiscated vehicles.

The Forensic Laboratory experts conducted examination of 35 vehicles seized by the Anti-Smuggling Organization in their different actions. These seized foreign origin vehicles were forwarded to Customs Adjudication for their proper trial and after conclusion of their trial these confiscated vehicles were lying in the State Warehouse of Multan Customs.

The Customs Collectorate of Multan has successfully conducted tests of these 35 confiscated vehicles which were lying at State ware House of Customs and Multan Dry Port. Experts of the laboratory have carried out vehicles examination on the request of Multan Customs which include Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota Hiace, Honda Civic, Land Cruiser, Vitz, Mazda Titan,Vigo, Mercedez Benz and others. Four confiscated vehicles out of 35 were found tampered from their chassis during the Forensic examination of the Laboratory experts. These four tampered vehicles were found cut and weld during the forensic examination of experts.

The Customs authorities are carrying out legal process for documentation of the confiscated vehicles to present them in the public auction held very soon. The purpose of the laboratory examination of the Customs is to decide about the confiscate vehicle whether it should be auctioned or dismantled. The experts have done comprehensive inspection of the seized vehicles during their inspection. Forensic examination is the necessary requirement for the auction of any confiscated vehicle before auction.

During examination process of the laboratory, experts have examined these vehicles chassis number, engine parts and other configurations of the vehicles very closely to determine their legal status.
