MULTAN: Customs Collectorate generated Rs12.82 million through public auction of confiscated goods and vehicles lying at the State Warehouse.
According to details, advertising banners were displayed about auction to be held outside Customs House and at Multan Dry Port to attract public.
Multan Customs encouraged people to participate in the auction for generation of handsome revenue through disposal of confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods.
Customs sold out nine out of presented ten foreign origin impounded vehicles in the auction. Customs offered different brands and models including Suzuki Jimmy Jeep, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Premio, Toyota Hilux and others. These confiscated vehicles were sold out in Rs9.81 million during auction and bidders expressed a great deal of interest in bidding vehicles.
Only one vehicle was rejected in the auction due to fewer prices offered from bidders in auction. Confiscated vehicles offered in the auction were of latest models and non-customs paid which were impounded by Anti-Smuggling Organization in their different actions from jurisdiction.
Multan Customs sold out different lots of miscellaneous goods in Rs3.01 million which included electronic goods, auto parts, foreign origin cloths, CCTV cameras and others.
Cellular companies were allowed to participate in the bid of cell phones of different brands only but they participated in the bidding.
Additional Collector Asdaq Afzal Sensera and Assistant Collector Multan Dry Port Muhammad Ikram supervised the whole auction process of confiscated goods and vehicles at Multan Dry Port to ensure transparency.
