Multan Customs handles 685 export consignments worth Rs1531.084m in Dec 2016-17

MULTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate handled 685 export consignments of Rs1531.084 million through Multan Dry Port during the month of December 2016-17.

According to details, Multan Dry Port witnessed progress in export movement of various consignments due to increasing demands of raw materials from other countries during the month of December 2016-17.

The Model of Customs Collectorate posted better export performance by clearing high containers during the month of December of current fiscal year 2016-17.

The supplies of the local raw material and furnished items have been increased from South Punjab in the last few months due to their adequate quality material. The Model of Customs Collectorate export has handled only 149 export shipments of worth Rs606.986 million during the matching period of December 2015-16 of the financial year 2016-17.

Most important export commodities which exported from Multan Dry Port were cotton yarn, fabrics, leather products, readymade garments, textile made ups and other items. Cotton yarn is consider most important export items of the Multan Customs and its consignments handled frequently from Multan Dry Port in bulk quantity along with other export items.

Multan Customs is providing special export facilities at Multan Dry Port for the handling of their export consignments and for this purpose Muzaffargarh export terminal is witnessed only for handling of export consignments.

Muzaffargarh export terminal of Multan Customs is playing active role in the handling of export consignments coming from the various industries of the South Punjab.

Due to improvement in the export handling at the Multan Dry Port in the last few months, it will also   encourage importers of the region for their import clearances.
