Multan Customs impounds tampered vehicle during road checking

MULTAN: Customs authorities have seized tampered vehicle during the road checking near Muzaffargarh.

Sources told Customs Today that Anti-Smuggling Organization has impounded a foreign origin Toyota Cerena car which was coming from Dera Ghazi Khan towards Muzaffargarh. The Customs team seized the vehicle bearing registration number P-2792 having chassis number AT151-0004590.

Customs asked the driver Syed Najeebullah for original documents to prove legal possession of the vehicle. He provided the documents which were found bogus during verification and customs staff found chassis and engine number of the said vehicle tampered during physical examination. Multan Customs took the vehicle into their custody and formed seizure report of the vehicle.

The Customs teams shifted the seized vehicle in the warehouse of the Multan Customs. The net value of the seized vehicle is Rs700,000.
