Multan Customs Intelligence plans to launch anti-smuggling campaign

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has decided to launch a massive anti-smuggling campaign with the help of law enforcement agencies in the region.

As per details, Deputy Director Naveed Ahmad said that the campaign will be kicked off adopting zero-tolerance policy against smuggling, adding that the department has started cooperation with other law enforcement agencies to curb smuggling in the region.

He said that the jurisdiction of Multan Customs Intelligence was stretched to the boundaries of three provinces of country that made it an important point to curb the smuggling, adding that a plan has been devised to nab the smuggler with the cooperation of law enforcement agencies.

The Anti-smuggling Organization, local police, border military police, Motorway Police will assist Customs Intelligence and Investigation by sharing information regarding the smuggling attempts in the region.

The Customs Intelligence has also taken permission from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to come hard of the smuggling. The Federal Board of Revenue will also monitor the anti-smuggling operations conducted with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies.
