Multan Customs Intelligence postpones auction of seized items

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation will not carry out auction of impounded vehicles and miscellaneous goods due to litigation process in April 2016.

As per details, more than 50 cases of seized item are pending with the Customs Adjudication due to which the items, which were confiscated during different anti-smuggling actions, cannot be presented for the auction.

Officials said that the department did not have sufficient goods and vehicles for auctions as many cases are in adjudication and Customs Appellate Tribunal, adding that earlier April 26 was announced for the bidding. They said that auction of the items will be conducted after the settling of cases. They informed that the seized items would be present for auction next month, May 2016.
