MULTAN: Multan Customs Collectorate is preparing a comprehensive report on the seized narcotics during fiscal year 2015-16.
According to details, the Pakistan Customs has directed Multan Customs to submit a report on the counter narcotics performance in the financial year 2015-16. The Multan Customs Collectorate has directed Multan Dry Port, Customs Air Freight Unit, Pakistan Post Office, Cargo luggage’s of passengers travelling by air and Anti-Smuggling Organization to provide details on the seizures of narcotics in their actions. Several airports of the Multan Customs territory, including Multan International, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan will also submit reports regarding narcotics cases.
The Customs Collectorate has also been asked to inform about the seized quantity, value and origin and description of the narcotics. Multan Customs have seized two major narcotics items which includes opium and hashish in their actions. He has also been asked to brief the methodology of detecting narcotics cases for the improvement of the further techniques of the Customs department by giving sharing their experience during action.
Pakistan Customs has also directed to mention the locations of narcotics in order to ascertain the frequent smuggling parts of narcotics. Customs teams will increase surveillance of those locations and their routes by better surveillance to root out drug trafficking
The purpose of the comprehensive report of the narcotics is to share activities of Customs with Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) along with other law enforcement agencies to eliminate the menace of narcotics from the country. Customs will also evaluate the narcotics performance with the corresponding years to expand their operational activities.
The Customs Collectorate will forward report to Pakistan Customs within next few days after its completion.
