ADC Nisar Ahmad seeks fulfillment of 62 positions in Multan range to overcome shortage of staff

MULTAN: Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Nisar Ahmad has made the workload assessment for the staff under his jurisdiction and seeks recruitment of 62 officials.

He told Customs Today that he was continuously demanding for the recruitment of fresh staff to carry out their routine office work. He said that regional jurisdiction of range office, Multan which comprises of three public divisions Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sadiqabad, needs manpower to execute their operational tasks.  He thought that three divisions consist of almost 40 percent area of the Punjab which has the longest geographical boundaries due to its sections.

He stated that Multan touches all the three provinces, which places the Multan Range Office (MRO) in a pivotal position and MRO needs three senior intelligence officer and four joiner intelligence officer and six clerks for enhanced investigation of any event in the jurisdiction of Multan City.

He prepared the workload assessment of fresh recruitments in which he also submitted request to establishment division that Multan Customs Intelligence and Investigation Range Office needs more 12 sepoys ,2 hawaldar, one driver and one  wireless operator. These fresh recruitments are other than their already existing working capacity in the MRO.

Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office Nisar Ahmad told Customs today that Sadiqabad is one of the most crucial obstruct point for anti-smuggling operations in the region, so his department needs more staff than existing to monitor the route for curbing smuggling in that location. He told that Sadiqabad route has its importance due to the entrance plug of the traffic coming from Karachi and other parts of Sindh and Balohistan through this course of way.

He said that he has also submitted a request to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)  to recruit assistant or deputy director at the Multan Customs Intelligence and Investigation Range Office Multan, which can handle the matters of department in absence of Additional Director.

He told that additional workforce of 15 employees including one superintendent, two senior intelligence officer, two clerks, six constables have been requested which  requires for the operation of Customs Intelligence and Investigation in the region of Sadiqabad for the strengthening of Customs operations.

He added that Dera Ghazi Khan is another choke point for anti-smuggling operations, because most of the traffic coming from Balochistan and Khyber Pahktun Khawa arrives to Lahore from this route. This route also passes through the entry point of Multan and Faisalabad. Dera Ghazi Khan office is operating with eight members staff  currently and it requires 18 more staff members, including one superintendent, two senior field intelligence officer, four intelligence officer, two clerks, 12 constables and one driver, he disclosed.

New workload assessment has been prepared for the recruitment of staff from Customs Intelligence and Investigation after the evaluation of staff in the regions. The workload assessment for the fresh staff has been prepared by Additional Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Nisar Ahmad after the continuous appeals for the fresh recruitment to fill the potency of man power in the region.

According to the workload assessment, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range office has requested the department to fill 62 positions to overcome shortage of staff in Multan range.
