Multan Customs seizes huge quantity of NDP tyres near Muzaffargarh

MULTAN: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid tyres of light traffic vehicles (LTV) and heavy traffic vehicles (HTV) in successful actions.

Collector Multan Customs Muneeza Majeed received secret information from their source that huge quantity of foreign origin tyres will be transported from Muzaffargarh to Multan region.

Collector has formed special anti-smuggling t squads comprises Superintendent Habib, Inspector Saleem Khan, Inspector Maqsood and others to take stern action against smuggled goods.

Multan Customs recovered non-duty paid Heavy Traffic Vehicle (HTV) tyres which were loaded on a truck of goods company and recovered 24 different brands of HTV tyres of worth Rs600, 000 in their action.

Anti-smuggling squad has recovered 10 HTV tyres of Rs380,000/- from the Dera Ghazi Khan region.

Customs Anti-Smuggling Squad recovered 16 HTV tyres from Muzaffargarh region in their routine road checking from truck in their third action. Multan Customs anti-smuggling squad asked them to produce legal documents but they were failed to produce it. Customs teams seized all recovered tyres after framing seizing reports under Customs act 1969. Further investigations were still under way.
