MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Multan has achieved remarkable success in its ongoing anti-smuggling operations, reporting total seizures and detentions worth Rs482 million during the first 17 days of October 2025.
The milestone reflects the department’s strong enforcement strategy and continued commitment to curbing illegal trade.
According to official sources, Customs teams carried out multiple targeted operations across the region.
In one major operation, officers intercepted a Mazda truck near Ghala Mandi, Multan, transporting foreign-origin goods such as cigarettes and betel nuts concealed beneath crushed animal bones. A subsequent warehouse raid in the city’s industrial area led to the recovery of additional contraband, bringing the total estimated value to Rs14.89 million.
In another successful seizure, enforcement teams intercepted a Hino truck at JCP Sakhi Sarwar, initially declared to be carrying fresh apples. Upon inspection, 104 foreign-origin inverters were found hidden under the fruit crates, worth approximately Rs13.2 million.
Separately, during a routine check at JCP Trimman, Customs officials recovered a smuggled Kawasaki Ninja heavy bike concealed in the luggage compartment of a passenger bus traveling from D.I. Khan to Karachi, valued at Rs2.2 million.
The Multan Customs Enforcement team continues to play a pivotal role in protecting Pakistan’s national revenue, ensuring fair trade practices, and strengthening border control mechanisms. The department reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining zero tolerance against smuggling and upholding transparency in trade operations.
