Multan Dry Port clears KAPCO consignments

MULTAN: The Multan Dry Port has cleared import consignments of Kot Addu Power Company Limited (KAPCO).

The dry port has cleared the import consignments worth Rs 325 million on the same day due to its efficient service. There were two consignments for the installation of a coal power plant in District Muzaffargarh.

KAPCO is an independent power generation company which is trying to enhance its service through upgrading of power plants. The company is also establishing coal power plants to overcome the electricity shortfall. The company has imported seven coal-fire steam boilers from China. The duty on these seven containers was almost Rs 13.74 million.

The second import consignment contained heavy oil treatment system. The duty received from KAPCO on the second consignment was Rs 34 million.

Principal Appraiser Mahmood Ahmad Khan cleared the import consignment after clearing agency Auto Track submitted a goods declaration.

Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad Warraich is committed to providing best available service and has directed port authorities to clear import consignments without delay.

According to sources, business community is attracted towards the Multan Dry Port as it is providing matchless services along with same-day clearance.
