Multan Excise seizes 251 vehicles during crackdown ‏

MULTAN:  The Excise and Taxation Department has impounded 251 vehicles during a general hold up in the city against token tax defaulters and applied for registration. Almost Rs 1.2 million have been collected from the impounded vehicles and imposed penalty on them.

Director Excise and Taxation Multan Jaam Siraaj Ahmad has constituted four different teams for checking of vehicles under the supervision of motor branch. The teams consist of excise and taxation officers, assistant excise and taxation officers and inspectors.

During road checking, more than 3000 vehicles were checked by Excise teams in the regions of Shujabad, Khanewal, Vehari, Lodhran and Multan. Almost 171 motorcycles, 27 cars, 32 tractors, four dumpers, 17 pick-ups were impounded during whole day general hold up operation of Excise teams.

Excise teams has set checkpoint at the entry and exit of the four districts during general hold-up operation. Excise teams have done challan of almost 204 vehicles in the general hold up operation in the various areas.
