Multan I&I impounds two oil tankers from G.T. Road

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation impounded two tankers loaded with a huge quantity of petroleum products.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Khayal Muhammad Khayal received information from Director I&I Rubab Sikandar that an attempt of smuggled petroleum products will be made via Multan.

He immediately constituted a team who made a secret ‘nakabandi’ at GT Road Multan and intercepted two oil tankers of petroleum products, one loaded with 40000 liters diesel and second loaded with kerosene oil 20000 liters. The value of seized tankers is Rs18 million.

Deputy Director told that and FIRs were lodged against possessors of smuggled foreign origin POL products whereas further investigation was underway. Strict directive regarding the crackdown on smugglers of POL products was issued by Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigations Zahid Khokhar.
