Multan IR I&I detects tax evasion of unregistered slanty factory

MULTAN: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Inland Revenue (IR) Intelligence and Investigation Multan has detected tax evasion of unregistered manufacturing factory of slanty crust of worth Rs3 million.

The Federal Board of Revenue has directed Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue to take stern action against tax evaders. Director Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue Zubair Bilal received secret information that huge quantities of crust were manufactured near Industrial Estate area of Multan.

Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue Multan raided private warehouse near Muzaffarabad Road and recovered huge quantity of manufactured Slanty crust. Said manufacturer was evading sales tax and was not paying any duty taxes on the said manufacturing of slanty crust. Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue Multan is taking strict action against tax evaders in the jurisdiction.

Local police were also called for assistance during crackdown of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue.

Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation detained the records, ledgers, accounts, computers, laptops and inventory details for further investigation. About tax evasion of Rs3 million was detected during preliminary interrogation of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue. Legal action against tax offender has been initiated and further investigations were still under process.
