Multan tops Punjab in property, other taxes recovery

Multan: The Excise and Taxation Department Multan division has doubled its recovery and revenue generation over the past two years as the total recovery for the financial year 2013-14 stands at over Rs1.60 billion compared to Rs880 million recovered in 2011-12.

This was disclosed by Director Excise and Taxation Multan Jam Siraj Ahmad while talking to the journalists here. He added that Multan division stood first in entire province for recovery of property and other taxes for the last three years as a result of which the provincial government increased development budget for Multan by 33 per cent. He said that a grand operation had been launched against unregistered motorcycles and other vehicles while all out resources were being utilised for the recovery of property, professional, entertainment, cotton and hotel taxes.
